Geometria Compactifications of families of smooth quadrics in projective space.

We will discuss the birational geometry, dictated by the Minimal Model Program, of a classical parameter space: the space of complete quadrics. We will see that the birational geometry of these spaces is governed by some classical constructions such as the Fano scheme and the quadric-line complex. |
