Analisi Matematica Multiplicity results for a Gauss equation on a hyperbolic surface Marcello Lucia 10-11-2021 - 16:00 Largo San Leonardo Murialdo,1 - Pal.C - Aula 311
Minimal surfaces have attracted a lot of attention in differential geometry and lead to very interesting nonlinear problems. Following a program that goes back to Uhlenbeck, we will discuss the gauss equation on a hyperbolic surface that arises when one prescribes the conformal structure and the second fundamental form. We will see that such a problem has at least two solutions. If time permits we will discuss a “dual” problem, for which existence and uniqueness of solution can be derived. |
