Fattorizzazioni di ideali in domini di Pruefer. Spazi di anelli di valutazione: topologia degli ultrafiltri e topologia inversa. Spazi spettrali di operazioni semistar

 
Marco Fontana received the degree “Laurea in Matematica”, in 1970, at Università di Roma (now "La Sapienza"). 
Assistant Professor from 1971 to 1975 at Università di Roma and Post-Doc at Université de Paris Sud - Orsay from 1972 to 1974.
Associate Professor at Università di Roma from 1975 to 1976.
From 1976 to 1992 was Professor, Chair of Algebra, at Università di Roma and, from 1992 to present, at Università degli Studi "Roma Tre''. 
His scientific interests concern mainly Commutative Ring Theory and, more precisely, valuation, Pruefer and Bézout domains, multiplicative ideal theory and relations with Algebraic Number Theory, topological methods in Commutative Algebra.
He has authored or co-authored over 120 research articles and 8 volumes in mathematics. 
Coordinator of three NATO-OTAN "Collaborative Research Grants", years 1986-1989, 1991-1994 and 1996-1999.
National coordinator or principal local investigator in PRIN projects (Research Projects of relevant National Interest) granted by MIUR for a two-year periode in the years 1997, 2000, 2002, 2005, 2008.
Visiting Professor in several universities in Italy, France, Spain, USA, Korea, Tunisia, Morocco, Iran, UAE, India, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Austria. 
He has been Invited Speaker in several International Conferences.
Member of the Organizing Committees or/and Scientific Committees of several International Conferences on various aspects of Commutative Ring Theory (Lyon 1987; Roma 1989, 1999 e 2010; Fes (Marocco) 1992, 1996, 1998, 2001, 2008; Al Ain (UAE) 2012; Venezia 2002; Cortona 2004 and 2006; Muscat (Oman) 2008; Pohang-Gyungju POSTECH (S. Korea) 2011; Graz (Austria) 2012 and 2014); American University-Sharjah (UAE) 2015.
He is presently an editor for the Journal of Commutative Algebra, Ricerche di Matematica, Journal of the Egyptian Mathematical Society, International Scholarly Research Notices (Algebra), ISRN-Hindawi, and Journal of Algebra, Number Theory and Applications.
