We will show some Li and Yau–type gradient estimates for positive solutions of the semilinear heat equations $u_t = Delta u + u^p$ with $p>$1, on a complete n–dimensional Riemannian manifold (M,g) with nonnegative Ricci tensor. We then discuss some applications to ancient and eternal solutions.
